Join us for a Virtual Salon on Wednesday, August 18th, at 7 pm EST to explore the theme of Transcendence Through Nature.

Together we’ll dive into the Transcendentalists of the 1800s and contemplate the role of nature in this philosophical and literary movement. How did these writers and thinkers relate to nature? What impact did this have on America throughout the 19th and 20th centuries? How do we experience nature in our own personal lives? Can it offer us any wisdom or perspective as we grapple with climate change in the present?

In this Virtual Salon, expect to hear a condensed version of Maya’s Transcendentalism class followed by an open discussion with other participants. Together we’ll share ideas and insights while enjoying each other’s company from afar.
